Got Thyroid Issues? Overcoming Hypothyroidism ~ Hashimoto's Disease

The thyroid is one of the most important glands within the human body.  It is butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck just below the Adam's apple.  It plays a major roll in controlling vital functions such as digestion, circulation, immune function, hormone balance, and emotions. It is responsible for producing T3 and T4 thyroid hormones which act to regulate the body’s metabolism and energy levels.

Individuals with an under-active thyroid do not secrete sufficient hormones and are often diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and eventually an autoimmune condition referred to as Hashimoto’s disease.

Possible Symptoms Of Hypothyroidism:
• Fatigue
• Yeast infections (Candida)
• Lack of energy
• Reduced immune function
• Poor resistance to disease
• Recurring infections
• Weight gain or increase difficulty losing weight
• Hair loss
• Cold intolerance
• Muscle cramps or frequent muscle aches
• Constipation
• Depression
• Irritability
• Memory Loss
• Abnormal menstrual cycles
• Decreased libido
• Average basal temperature below 98.4 degrees

Approximately 40 percent of the U.S. population suffers from milder forms of this disorder to some degree, and these people tend to suffer from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). In its severe form, it is referred to as Hashimoto’s disease.
